What do we call Opera?
Opera, as a genre of classical music, is a dramatic work in one or more acts, set to music for singers and musicians. In other words, an opera is a play with music. In opera, the performers on the stage are normally singers, instead of actors. The story is told in song and by the music from the orchestra. And just like plays or films, operas can also be very exciting. The music of opera is classical, and many famous composers have written operas.
Opera is typically a collaboration between a composer and a librettist (the person who writes the words to be sung) and incorporates a number of arts such as acting, scenery, costume, and sometimes dance or ballet. The performance is typically given in an opera house and is led by a conductor.
In 1598 the first opera is produced.
